Technical Exercises
TECH EX 04: Repair Audio
For this assignment, I followed chapter 5 in the LinkedIn Learning video and completed the exercises in Audition. Each sound clip has been edited to create a much more clean and crisp sound. There are 7 different techniques used and they each accomplish something different between each video. Enjoy!
TECH EX 03: Radio Call
For this exercise, I followed along for the tutorial and completed the first radio call track. The second is my radio call that I paired with found royalty-free audio sounds and music tracks from various websites. I chose music that felt upbeat and had some funk to it. I chose sounds that would evoke excitement, suspense and some humor. I recorded myself doing the radio calls, and channeled my best ‘podcast voice’ to have some positivity and pep. This was a great experience, and I am starting to see how it all comes together. I hope you enjoy!
TECH EX 02: Foley Sounds
For this exercise, we got to capture a list of sounds from various distances and formats. We also had the experience of capturing sounds of our own choice. I used my iPhone 11 pro, and used the Voice Record app. I actually found that the app captured my sounds and voices pretty well. As we went along, I wrote in my log details of the sound, what track number it was, and various notes to go along with it. I found the log was very helpful to keep me organized, especially when going back into audition. Now I can’t watch a movie without thinking what the sound artists were doing in their studio to create the awesome sounds haha!

TECH EX 01: Sound Editing Basics
Hello! For this first assignment I definitely feel like a novice when navigating Audition but it’s very straightforward when following your assignment video. Trying to understand what I’m supposed to be listening for, in terms of editing I know will come with time once I have a little bit more experience. I am ready for the challenge and look forward to learning more about sound and video and how that will help in all aspects of my professional portfolio in the future. I’m liking what I am learning! 🙂
