LinkedIn is an online community for professionals to connect socially. LinkedIn is owned by Microsoft founded in 2003 and is based in California but has offices world wide. LinkedIn allows employees to upload their resumes and apply for various company positions directly on the site. LinkedIn is primarily used for networking and professional connections. LinkedIn makes their revenue by subscriptions, advertisements and through recruitment. Ads are paid out through the pay-per-click (PPC) model. Consumers can subscribe and acquire access to premium services or by selling information to recruitment agencies.
